A Golden October Wedding at Harvest View Barn

There’s something special about fall weddings in South Central Pennsylvania — the crisp air, golden light stretching across open fields, and rich, earthy tones that make every moment feel warm and intimate. On October 12, 2024, Olivia and Drake Myers embraced all of it as they celebrated their rustic autumn wedding at Harvest View Barn. With 23 members in their bridal party, four flower grandmothers, and a love story that began in a college dorm room, their wedding day was a night to remember.

From the Drumline to “I Do”

Before Olivia and Drake were husband and wife, they were best friends.

Their story began in the summer of 2019 at drumline mini-camps for the Shippensburg University Marching Band. Olivia was a freshman trying out for the bass line, and Drake was a sophomore veteran in the snare line. They officially met there — but it wasn’t until August, when they moved into neighboring dorm buildings, that their connection deepened.

Adjusting to college life, Olivia needed help setting up a printer in her dorm room. Remembering that Drake lived next door, she called him. He came over without hesitation. What started as a simple favor turned into hours of easy conversation. Between untangling cords and troubleshooting Wi-Fi, they talked about everything — classes, music, life, and the future. It felt natural and from that night on, they were inseparable.

Five years later, standing hand in hand on the beautiful grounds of Harvest View Barn, they promised forever — a full-circle moment from dorm room friendship to lifelong commitment.

Finding “The One” — The Venue

Like many couples, Olivia and Drake began their venue search online. They found Harvest View Barn on The Knot and, after doing some research, scheduled a tour. It was the first venue they toured during their wedding planning journey. Even though they toured a few other venues afterward, they couldn’t stop comparing everything back to Harvest View Barn. The renovated barn, beautifully maintained farmhouse, and the sweeping grounds made an immediate impression — but what stood out most was the people.

“The second we turned onto the property, I started to cry,” Olivia shared. “I just knew this was our place. The staff didn’t make our wedding feel like a business transaction. They made us feel like family.”

Drake agreed, “When we toured, we immediately fell in love and knew that was where we wanted to get married. Not only is the venue stunning, but the family and staff who guided us were phenomenal.”

Once they secured their October 2024 date, the excitement truly began.

The Wedding Planning Experience: Supported Every Step of the Way

From booking to wedding day, Olivia and Drake describe the planning process as smooth, collaborative and enjoyable. Their Harvest View Barn coordinators, Eve Weimer and Katie Wagner, played a major role in that experience.

“We appreciated the family atmosphere that Harvest View Barn had to offer,” Drake shared. “Eve and Katie spent a lot of time getting to know us and made us feel welcomed.”

Though Olivia and Drake describe themselves as “not too picky,” they still had a vision. With guidance from their coordinators, that vision came to life. One standout feature was Harvest View Barn’s digital seating software Prissm, which allowed them to easily customize their reception layout. Additionally, the venue’s extensive “hard goods” room — filled with beautiful décor available at no additional cost — was another huge perk.

“The months leading up to the wedding felt easy,” Olivia adds. “We felt so much love and support from not just our family and friends, but the staff at Harvest View Barn. It was so much fun bouncing ideas off Katie and Eve. They really made everything fall right into place. It was beautiful.”

The Big Day: October 12, 2024

Their wedding day was joyful and full of energy from the very first moment. The bridal party — 11 bridesmaids in rust orange and 12 groomsmen in navy blue — beautifully complemented the autumn countryside backdrop. The morning unfolded calmly. Katie greeted Olivia with a huge hug upon arrival, instantly calming her pre-ceremony jitters. Within minutes of settling in, everything was organized and ready. The girls shared lunch in the farmhouse kitchen before getting ready in the spacious bridal suite, enjoying those quiet moments together.

“Katie gave me a huge hug as soon as I rolled up,” Olivia recalls. “It was such a sweet, grounding moment — one I’ll never forget. My girls and I had such a special morning. Everyone had such a nice time getting ready together in the suite.”

Upstairs, Drake’s morning was relaxed and lively.

“I had 12 — yes, 12 — men in the groomsmen suite, and we had a blast,” he said. “We watched football, had a few drinks, and just enjoyed being together. The space made it easy and fun.”

Their ceremony unfolded on a picture-perfect fall afternoon, with sunshine and 70-degree temperatures setting the scene. The pond, bridge, and gazebo created a breathtaking backdrop as Olivia walked down the aisle. One of the most touching moments came when their grandmothers served as flower girls, sprinkling petals down the aisle and filling the space with smiles — and a few happy tears. It was a beautiful tribute to family and the generations of love that led to that moment.

Guests then gathered in the lower level of the barn for cocktail hour, enjoying the grand fireplace, original stone walls and open-beam character of the space. For the reception, guests took the sweeping staircase to

the second level, where warmth, laughter, and celebration filled the room — the perfect setting for dinner and dancing.

A Venue That Feels Like Family

Nearly two years later, Harvest View Barn still holds a special place in Olivia and Drake’s hearts. What began as a venue search quickly turned into something that simply felt right. From the scenic countryside views to the thoughtfully designed spaces, every detail created an atmosphere that was both beautiful and welcoming. But beyond the stunning setting, it was the people behind Harvest View Barn who made the experience unforgettable.

“We reminisce often and talk about the beautiful experience we had,” Olivia shared. To this day, friends and family continue to comment on how breathtaking the venue was and how much fun they had celebrating there. “We still have people telling us how amazing our venue was,” Drake adds. “That’s all thanks to the staff and family at Harvest View Barn.”

For couples searching for a wedding venue in Elizabethtown, PA that offers a timeless backdrop, seamless coordination, and a genuine family feel, Harvest View Barn is more than just a place to host a wedding — it’s an experience that stays with you long after the last dance.
